I cannot" or things like that. Also mentions having been to locations where you'd expect the Empress to have. Other than speculation though, there is no confirmation from the devs yet if the heart really belongs to the Empress or not. Either way, it's kinda twisted by the Outsider. I think its both nifty and a bad thing to make the heart the empress's heart.

Its nifty that you get to carry around the heart of the empress since your out for vengeance for her, but at the same time, for future sequels and things it sort of ruins the heart as having more plot, more backstory, more than just being the empress's heart. A cool title to follow up to this one is who this heart belongs to and how it came to be, but we cant have that if we already knwo its the empress's.

Well then, you're going to want to listen to your heart. Early in the game, the mysterious stranger gives you some magical powers, as well as a mechanized human heart. But also, cool. Equipping the heart points you to all manner of runes and bone charms, both of which enhance your magical powers.

It's certainly worth taking the time to track down each of the power-ups, partly because a full complement of powers makes the game more exciting, but also because each one is located in an off-the-beaten-path room that tells a little story of its own.

Truly, the heart is a gateway to a richer, deeper Dishonored experience. But the heart does something else, too—it talks. Every time you point it at anything and activate the heart, it tells you an enigmatic story about the place or person you're observing.

It's amazing just how much the heart has to say; every major character, every location, the hearts has something to share about them all.

Since this is Dishonored, the whispered secrets are weighted towards the bad. I play as Emily, and these whispered truths make a stark contrast to her occasional comments. Too much.
